My father is from Shanghai so I grew up eating good Shanghainese food. The restaurant is located in the New World mall. Inside the restaurant is nicely decorated. There is an open kitchen where you can see them cooking. I was seated promptly and given menu and tea. I ordered the xiao long bao, of course, salty soy milk, and wontons by checking off the menu items. I handed back the menu and the waiter asked if I wanted hot oil in the salty soy milk. I said yes. The salty soy milk came first. This one has seaweed in it. The hot oil was not that hot. It had great flavor and texture but not as much preserved vegetables in other places. Next came the wontons and xlb. The skin on the wontons were thin and silky but there wasn't a lot of filling. The soup was clear and clean tasting. The xlb's skin was moderately thin. I've had thinner but it was full of soup. The filling was very soft and melted in my mouth. That's good or bad depending on how you like your xlb's filling. Some people prefer the filling to have more substance. Overall it was a good meal. I enjoyed the sleek looking restaurant in a generic mall.

If you are from Shanghai, you can taste the flavor of your hometown. Many shanghai style restaurants located in this area, but this one is the most authentic taste.

This is an authentic Chinese restaurant. I came here with a group of 6 (7total). When we arrived, we saw the staff hand making dumplings and egg rolls. We ordered the following items: * sweet and sour beef ribs -- the ribs were chewy and the beef had a taste that it had possibly been in the freezer too long. * bok choy -- this was a hit at the table and was the first thing to get polished off. * beef fried rice -- this is your traditional fried rice. Pretty standard. * soup dumplings (x4) -- these were delicious. If you come here, order these! * family-size pork and tofu with bamboo soup (individual bowl shown) -- this was also delicious. The flavor of the broth was light, but full of flavor and the pork belly was incredibly tender. The bamboo and tofu (the rolled knot in the bowl) gave the soup great texture. * traditional dessert -- this was a sticky rice filled with red bean and topped with various dried fruits like raisins and red date. This was not sweet, but had the correct level of sweetness to end a meal. I also recommend this for those looking for a dessert. The wait staff was very on top of things, clearing plates and empty dishes shorty after we finished something.

My favorite Shanghainese place in flushing and the prices are amazing. Their dumplings amd pan fried dumplings are a must try, extremely juicy. Just make sure not to burn your tongue. Very authentic home cooked vibes, very casual setting. Classic hole in the wall vibes.

The service is quick and the food is really tasty and cheap. The pork knuckle is delicious and would highly recommend coming here.

Authentic Shanghainese food. As a native Shanghainese, this place offers the most authentic Shanghainese food at a most reasonable price. Always my go to place when I crave some hometown food!

Surrounded by many Shanghainese restaurants in Flushing (including the venerable Nan Xiang and Shanghai You) this tiny but attractively modern space stands on its own. Did a carry out of pan fried pork buns and stir fried rice cakes with preserved cabbage and shredded pork. The pork buns were exceptionally good with a yeasty dough and crispy bottom with a yummily gingered pork filling that was very juicy. The nian gao was definitely old school with the slightest funk from the preserved cabbage and a nice amount of pork. But it was the al dente chewiness of the rice cakes that had me eating the dish way past satiation. Great first meal in this exciting part of Queens

Dinner with the family plus it was close to our hotel and we wanted Shanghainese food. We walked in and was seated right away. We started with 2 orders of soup dumpling and the Yang Zhou fried rice. Added pan fried dumplings, marinated beef slice, scallion pancake and bok choy. This was enough for 4 of us. I loved the soup dumplings. None of them broke. All had good amount of soup. It's my favorite and I don't really get decent ones in Orlando. Everything was delicious and tasted like home cooking from my childhood. My grandpa was Shanghainese. Price was also reasonable. Had a very yummy dinner here.

the food here is authentic tasting. my favorite item is the pan-fried soup dumplings, they just really slap so hard, combining best of a regular fried dumpling and a juicy ass soup dumpling xio long bao. I've been here a couple times now and trying various items. definitely recommend!
